Dalmatian specialities

The days become longer again, the sun stronger and the feeling of comfort increases. So I thought to myself: what could be better than inviting friends and spoiling them with culinary delights. According to the temperatures I served dalmatian specialities.

We Austrians are known for our cosiness. As soon as the temperatures rise, we are drawn outside and the guest garden season opens. Especially on weekends and in the evening life shifts slowly outside. For many of us the barbecues are running at full speed again. Invite friends, have a glass of wine and enjoy life – that’s how we imagine our free time. Recently I took the opportunity to spend such a relaxed day with friends on our terrace. But for once I wanted to offer something different than grilled meat, garlic baguette and haloumni cheese. I got the idea to serve Mediterranean dishes and so I got Dalmatian specialties for a “Brettljause”.

Top quality from small farmers and family businesses

Fortunately, I already knew some products of the brand Terra Dalmatia and was impressed by the quality. So I decided to order several products through their online tearing shop. The most important thing for me was to inspire my friends with a wide selection of Dalmatian specialities. This is one of the reasons why I ordered: Organic olives green and black, Dalmatian shallots and anchovies salted in a glass, Marasca cherry mustard, hard cheese, raw ham and a Zlatna – a white wine from Dalmatia.

As you can see from my photos, the snack looked visually very tasteful. The weather was perfect and so “only” the products had to convince. Already with the first sip of the Zlatna the day was perfect. The light white wine was the hammer and the rest of the food tasted delicious without exception. While I could not keep my hands off the raw ham and anchovies, my partner preferred the Pag hard cheese in combination with the Marasca cherry mustard. The olives were also a poem and the shallots, the ajvar and the olive pesto rounded off the snack perfectly. And finally I served the aperitif first: a Maraska cherry liqueur.

My conclusion:

I am thoroughly impressed with the quality and service of Terra Dalmatia. The delivery arrived two days after the online order by mail. The Prsut raw ham and the pager hard cheese were sealed airtight, all other products were packed in a glass or bottle. All in all: top. However, the quality of the products most impressed me and my guests. My highlights were the Zlatna, the Prsut and the anchovies.
